WHY I"M RUNNING FOR SCHOOL BOARD

Welcome! This is my official campaign webpage. I’m currently running to be elected to the Pasco School Board. I have a desire to serve parents, students, and teachers in our community. I want to be an advocate for parents and support a school district that works to educate children in partnership with parents. I recognize parents as the main stakeholders in there child’s education and that parents guide a child’s education in accordance with there values and morals. Local elected positions, such as school board, are important. Elected school board memebers have influence on district and state policies that can effect a child’s education, finances, and district direction. I feel our state is steering away from parents and local control toward standardization and state control. I believe it is important that the state and school boards focus on implementing classical education models, programs, and methods that educate students to become informed citizens who find commonality in being citizens of our great nation. I reject the whole child concept as an ever evolving educational necessity and want to see policies that bolster parental notification and concent for certain services. I believe educators must inform parents of all communication between them and the student. I believe good teachers and staff should be payed well, but that administrative overhead should be reduced to as low as possible. I believe a district should be focused on conservative financial practices that balance future needs, achieve current district goals, and do not use district funds to benefit special interest groups. I believe bonds and levies should be conservatively procured and used in their entirety as intended. I would be honored to work for parents, students, educators, and the Pasco School Board by your vote. Thank You.
